The wait for season 2 of The Mandalorian was full of reports of returning Star Wars icon reunions.
It’s still possible that characters like Cobb Vanth, Bo-Katan Kryze, Ahsoka Tano and even Boba Fett will grace our screens – and the trailer only added more mystery into who Mando and his young daughter will face on their journey.
A new theory now shows how these mysterious characters can restore a missing weapon from the past Star Wars, now with a new owner in Season 2 of The Mandalorian
The biggest question from the first trailer for the Mandalorian season 2 was absolutely who exactly was that mysterious cloaked woman seen in the harbour?
We all know that she is played by Sasha Banks but whose is she?
Undoubtedly, among the popular suggestions was a Mandalorian native and the main character of the Rebels, Sabine Wren.
While that concept is interesting, Sabine is not one of the Jedi “sorcers” from whom Mando and the child seek.
Her main connection to the Mandalorian story is that she was the titular for the Darksaber (a Mandalorian invention in itself) in Rebels.
The dark saber is now the property of Moff Gideon, as seen in the last scene of The Mandalorian season 1; if she returns it may be in a plottie against him.

Sabine can still be armed with her own light-bulbs however
Redditor spotted a tense opportunity for both a Rebels Easter egg and a way for Sabine to face off against Moff Gideon for her old sword – Ezra Bridger’s green lightsaber.
After the Rebels final, the young Jedi left Ezra Bridger with Sabine who used it as a quick escape from a building propped to explode.
No mention of what happens to it after that, so that Sabine could still be posing the sword nearly four years after those events.
She is not sensitive to force, but she received light and bow training from Jedi, so she would be able to more than use it to face off against Moff Gideon or protect Baby Yoda.

This isn’t the first time a former lighting device was believed to make a Mandalorian appearance.
Other theories claim the return of Ahsoka Tano will either bring her two double-wielding light-sabers or Anakin’s light-saber rescued at the end of Empire Strikes Back.
It seems like fans now expect again the saber as the season passes after the darksaber.
The reverse analysis — The possibility of Ezra Bridgers’ lightsaber returning depends on the possibility of returning Sabine Wren.
Although she is actually a Mandalorian and has a story with the darksaber, she would fit well into the plot.
But with television series star Giancarlo Esposito, the big answers wouldn’t come until later and maybe she and the lightsabers won’t appear until the third or fourth seasons.
On October 30th the Mandalorian returns to Disney+.
