Merrell makes beloved shoes. This Labor Day they have created an epic sale with many of their products up to 40% off. From rugged hiking footwear to casual sandals, Merrell makes a bit of everything.

We hand-picked our favorite models, which are on sale, below. Make sure to grab them before they’re gone – supplies are limited.

Merrell Moab 2 Mid Waterproof Hiking Boots – 20% OFF

It’s hard to get more classic than the Merrell Moab hiking boot. The line has been popular for so long our staff can’t remember not having hiked in a pair — the Moab 2 Mid Waterproof boots are the biggest, burliest version of that classic.

They use suede leather and mesh in the upper for rugged durability and decent breathability, a large protective toe cap, and an EVA midsole for plenty of comfort. The Waterproof version uses Merrell’s own M Select dry tech, which works well to keep water off your shoe, so feel free to step through rivers. The Moab 2 boots use a traction-filled, durable Vibram TC5+ sole which has deep, five millimeter lugs.

Overall these boots work right out of the box, will give you heaps of comfort and protection while trekking, and are 20% off.

Merrell Bare Access XTR Shield – 25% Off

Merrell Bare Access XTR shield

For the trail runners out there — or the backpackers and hikers who know the secret of lightening your shoes — the Merrell Bare Access XTR Shield shoes are a surprise. The Bare Access are Merrell’s zero-drop trail shoes, meaning there is no height difference between the heel and toe. This is best for runners and hikers who thrive with a natural gait, and prefer to walk barefoot most of the time.

The Bare Access XTR Shield shoes have a wide toe box for the increased toe splay that comes from barefoot-style hiking, and a waterproof treatment that will keep your feet dry on wet, muddy runs. Despite the barefoot feel, Merrell does include comfort and support with the Bare Access: there’s 17 millimeters of cushion in the FLEXconnect midsole and Vibram TC5+ outsole, which provides plenty of support and traction to take on rock-strewn trails.

The Bare Access are vegan friendly, and weigh just one pound per shoe. If you’re a trail runner who deals with rain often and want the barefoot feel with a bit of comfort, the Bare Access XTR Shield is ideal.

Merrell Zion Hiking Shoes – 30% Off

Merrell Zion Hiking Shoes

The Merrell Zion shoes are a hybrid: part trail runner, part hiking shoe, part sneaker. This mix of builds makes them highly versatile — a shoe works in the office, on the afternoon hike, and in the brewery at the end of a long day. They’re excellent for camping, too.

The Zion shoes use a mix of full grain leather and mesh for the upper. The leather is stylish and comfortable, while the mesh sits over the mid-foot for increased breathability and flex. On the durability side of things, there’s a removable insole, protective rubber toe cap, dual-density EVA, and FlexPlate, all of which help your foot feel great step after step. And the Zion uses the Megagrip outsole with a 5 millimeter lug depth to successfully walk through most adverse environments.

If you want a one-and-done hiking shoe that looks like a sneaker, the ZIon is your best bet.
