We normally use these light foam skis and they work great, but I thought that it would be fun to make an outdoor wooden sled for them to enjoy.
One of the things that I loved the most about moving to Denver was having the chance to go sledding with my kids. We usually use these light foam sleds and they work great, but I thought that it would be fun to create an outdoor wooden sled for them to enjoy. While I doubt that this sled will break any speed records it works fairly well and is also great for driving the kids around the neighborhood when the streets are covered in ice and snow.
This project began with the steam bend of rails that can be learned more about in this video. Once you have your rails, you can jump back to this video to see the rest of the building.
In order to protect the wood I used Total Boat Gleam 2.0.
Throughout the year we also give thanks to our sponsors Powermatic, Titebond, and Duluth Trading Company.
