For those unfamiliar with Nova, the super-hero is a member of the Nova Corps with superhuman abilities including increased strength, flight and resistance to injury ; his origin story may see Richard Rider (Nova ) battle Annihilus with a little support from Guardians of the Galaxy, since most of the team has played key roles in the comic – character playing an anihilus.
The last few moments of Avengers: Endgame ” saw the Guardians of the Galaxy ready for another new adventure – we’re pretty sure that they were trying to find the whereabouts of the 2014 version of Gamora (Zoe Saldana).
Will Thor (Chris Hemsworth) be the team’s latest addition? We don’t know but what we want to know is if Nova, the intergalactic superhero, meets the Guardians at some point in the future.
With Omnitos saying Nova has made some serious headway into production, Marvel Studios is probably going to make an announcement pretty soon. So it’s interesting to see if Nova will appear in James Gunn-directed’Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. The standalone Nova Movie should only be released after 2022.
While it is unclear what the plot will be for Vol 3, we are certain that Nova will be there if the plot has anything to do with the Annihilation Wave. It could also be the other way round and the Nova standalone movie could show the Guardians?
The only remote connection we have to Nova from previous movies comes after Thanos destroys Xandar to obtain powerstone. Thor explains how the mad Titan gives his hands to the guards after they rescue him in ‘Infinity War ” upon the stone. Xandar is also home to the elite intergalactic police force called the Nova Corps, as mentioned by the comics, destroying Thanos the superhero as the last survivor.
If the standalone script of Nova is loosely based on the Annihilation theory then we may see the return of old characters as well as the introduction of new ones. The old include Rocket Raccoon, Gamora, Mantis and Ronan, while the new may be Annihilus and Adam Warlock.
The alternate theory is the introduction of Galactus, who also acts as the next big baddie that Marvel can look at after Thanos, but if it’s a Nova origin story that Marvel plans, then we can see Annihilus first.
For those unfamiliar with Nova, the super-hero is a member of the Nova Corps, with superhuman capabilities including enhanced strength, flight, and resistance to injury ; his origin story may see Richard Rider (Nova) battle Annihilus with some assistance from Guardians of the Galaxy since most of the team has played key roles in playing an anihilus in the comics.
But all this is purely speculation based on comics and Marvel is known to have modified storylines in the past. But it does appear cool to have Nova having a crossover with the Guardians, since it also includes Thor.
In the meantime, the MCU will tie-in phase 3 – officially known as the ‘Infinity Saga’- with the release of ‘Spider-Man: Far from Home’which will hit theatres on July 2.
