The former winner of a championship in 2008 at the helm of the Boston Celtics spent the last seven years of his coaching career with the Clippers, but this ended after the team’s disappointing exit to the Denver Nuggets in the conference semi-finals where the team blew a 3-1 series lead and lost in seven games.

The Philadelphia 76ers coach job is still open and apparently they are all wasteful in looking if the latest name on the market would be interested in talking about the position. According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, the Sixers and Doc Rivers have parted ways with the Los Angeles Clippers this week, and are coming to talk about their vacancy soon.

Rivers, who won a championship at the helm of the Boston Celtics in 2008, spent the last seven years of his coaching career with the Clippers, but this ended after the team’s disappointing exit to the Denver Nuggets in the conference semi-finals, in which the team blew a 3-1 series lead and fell in seven games. The team did not advance past the conference semifinals under Rivers’ watch. Despite this he is a respected name around the league and has won plenty of games during his coaching time, bringing a record of 943-681 in his career.
