The incredible thing is that Carvey plays both Perot and Bush Father at a time with the late Phil Hartman as Bill Clinton using some presequencing.

This is how I prepared for tonight’s event — by watching old Saturday Night Live parodies from past presidential debates. Here are my top five
Chevy Chase as Jerry Ford.
— Dana Carvey and Jon Lovitz revive Bush-Dukakis.
Darrell Hammond as Al Gore
Dana Carvey as Ross Perot –
The incredible thing is that Carvey plays both Perot and Bush père at one time with the late Phil Hartman as Bill Clinton, via some pre-sequencing. For me, the most important is at the end of Carvey asBush and Hartman as Clinton look up at Perot and you see what is on their minds: one of the Munchkins from The Wizard of Oz.
Alec Baldwin as Donald Trump
The only reason that I do not rate this a higher is that Baldwin was in other, later bits funnier as Trump. This debate sketch with Kate McKinnon as Hillary Clinton is Baldwins debut. There is no single moment that stood out in here, though given the recent revelations about Trump’s taxes, the exchange where McKinnon accuses Clinton Baldwin of “never paying taxes in his life” reverberates four years later. Baldwin? McKinnon is getting “warmer”.
We’ll have to save Tina Fey’s portrayal of Sarah Palin for the vice-presidential debate on Wednesday. Enjoy
