The Minister of Universal Health and Public Health, Ana Barceló, participated in the interterritorial body of the national health system this week in which the health ministry presented a document containing criteria that determine measures for cities where there are certain factors, which the Generalitat detailed in a statement.

Barceló has showed its support for this document because “it is important that decisions are taken in a coordinated way between all the autonomous communities as we have been doing since the beginning of the pandemic ” In this sense he stressed that the approval of this agreement does not interfere with the powers of the Valencian Community and the measures that can continue to be taken to control the pandemic.

In the Valencian community, there are four towns with more than 100,000 inhabitants: Castelló (171,728 inhabitants), Valencia (794,288), Alicante (334,887) and Elche (232,517). In none of them a 500-per 100,000 inhabitants infestation rate was ever reached. According to the Generalitat, in the most acute phase of the pandemic, half the threshold has been reached.

Currently the cumulative incidence of the last 14 days in the Valencian Community is 107.90 cases per 100,000 people. The AI is 115.45 in the city of Valencia, 137.96 in the city of Alicante, 155.48 in Castellón de la Plana and 165.72 in the city of Elche
