Academy Nicholl Fellowships Announces 2020 winner, Sets Virtual Table for Dec.

On Wednesday, the five winners of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences Academy Nicholl Fellowships in Screenwriting 2015 were announced by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. Each fellow will receive $35,000 and be featured in the Academy Nicholl Fellowships for screenwriting awards and a virtual table reading on Dec. 3. An ensemble of actors will read selected scenes from the winning script at the awards ceremony.
The winner of 2020 are:
James Acker, Samboi, Beth Curry, Lemon, Veran Jaddou, Goodbye, Iraq, Kate Marks, The Cow of Queens, Jane Therese, The Sins of My Father.
A total of 7,831 scripts were submitted for this year’s contest. The Academy selected 10 individual screenwriters as finalists before being evaluated by the fellowship committee.

The Academy Awards will be held on April 25 before the opening of the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures which is currently scheduled for April 30.
